Licences in 2500-2690 MHz

PTS will award licenses in the frequency band 2500-2690 MHz – an auction started on 14 April, 2008. The frequencies are, among other things, considered to be interesting for mobile telephony and broadband wireless access.

The auction has been concluded. Five bidders applied to the auction. These have won licenses for the total amount of SEK 2,099,450,000 (approximately EUR 226 millions).

The auction is foreseen to take approximately 2 to 10 working days to conclude. At the end of each auction day, PTS will publish information on the number of bidding rounds that have taken place during the day and the sum of standing highest bids in each bidding round on this page.

For reasons of confidentiality, PTS will not publish names of bidders before the auction has been concluded and a decision has been announced on the assignment of licenses.

PTS confirms auction will take place

One or more applications have been submitted for the auction and PTS hereby confirms that the auction will take place. It is scheduled to start on 14 April and is assessed to take 2 to 10 working days. The name(s) of the bidder(s) will be published after the auction has been concluded and a decision on assignment of licenses has been announced.


 

PTS invites interested parties to apply for the auction

PTS today publishes the Open invitation for the 2.6 GHz band auction that is scheduled to start on 14 April. The application and the bank guarantee must have been received by PTS no later than 10 March. PTS urges all interested parties to carefully read the Open invitation and the regulations.


Final Regulations adopted by PTS Board of Directors

The PTS Board of Directors on 11 December 2007 adopted final Regulations for the 2.6 GHz band auction. In early 2008, PTS intends to publish an open invitation with a deadline for application approximately two months from the date of publication.

Public consultation of draft auction rules
The auction procedure is regulated by PTS Regulations as well as in an open invitation. The Draft Regulations is now issued for public consultation. The Draft Open Invitation is also published. PTS also invites particularly comments on the draft technical licence conditions, which are attached to the Draft Open Invitation as appendix 1. The final date for submission of comments to PTS is October 22, 2007.
