According to the Swedish frequency plan there are a number of frequency bands which can be used for wireless audio transmission. Some of these frequency bands are used on the basis of license exemption and for usage of some other frequency bands a license issued by PTS is required.
Frequency bands which can be used for wireless audio transmission are listed in the table below:

Changes in the frequency bands for broadcasting
In the past years some considerable changes have taken place regarding the use of frequency bands allocated for broadcasting. One of the consequences is a shortage of the possibilities for usage of the frequencies for wireless transmission, specifically those which require a licence issued by PTS.
PTS is actively participating in different international working groups in order to follow the international development as well as to identify new frequency bands that can be used for wireless transmission.
The situation after 1 January 2011
After 1 January 2011 no licenses will be issued for the use of wireless audio transmitters in the frequency band 790-862 MHz. According to PTS regulations, there is however two gaps that can be used on license exempt as given in the table above.
