Many acts and ordinances govern the work of PTS.

According to the Constitution of Sweden, the Riksdag (Swedish Parliament) makes decisions on Swedish legislation. The Swedish Government is the main source of statutory proposals. You can find Swedish laws on the Riksdag's website (only in Swedish).

Key acts in PTS's work include the Postal Services Act and the Electronic Communications Act:
