Assignment in the 3.5 GHz and 2.3 GHz bands
PTS intends to assign frequencies in the 3.5 GHz and 2.3 GHz bands during 2020. The band is harmonised for mobile broadband services and is interesting for future deployment of 5G.

Bidding day one - the auctions are concluded
The clock auction for the 3.5 GHz band is concluded after a total of four completed rounds. The placement part for the 3.5 GHz band has also been completed. After conclusion of the 3.5 GHz auction, it was clear that there were one bidder qualified for the full band bid auction of 80 MHz in the 2.3 GHz band, which also ended during the day. The licences have been distributed according to the table below.

Four companies approved for participation in the auctions
Hi3G Access, Net4Mobility, Telia Sverige and Teracom have been approved for participation in the 3.5 GHz and 2.3 GHz auctions. The auction in the 3.5 GHz band starts on 10 November.
In accordance with new legislation, which entered into force on 1 January 2020, an examination of applications has been conducted in consultation with the Swedish Armed Forces and the Swedish Security Service, to ensure that the use of radio equipment in these bands does not cause harm to Sweden´s security.

Public invitation and auction rules are published
Planned auction start is November 10 2020 and applications shall be submitted to PTS no later than June 30 2020.
