Invitation from PTS to the 1800 MHz band auction
The Swedish Post and Telecom Authority (PTS) will hold a spectrum auction to assign frequencies in the 1800 MHz band. The auction is planned to be held on 24 October 2016 and the deadline for applications by interested parties to participate is 10 October 2016.
The auction involves one licence of 2 x 5 MHz in the 1800 MHz band (Block 14). These frequencies are currently used for mobile telephony and mobile broadband.
PTS have decided on a minimum bid of SEK 40 million for this licence.
The auction will be held as one round with sealed bids submitted to PTS. The format and applicable rules for the auction are described in the open invitation.
Application deadline is 10 October
Those wishing to apply to participate in the auction must submit an application to PTS no later than 10 October 2016. It is important for applications to be received on time and to include the information required by PTS.

Facts about this assignment:
- One national licence of 2 x 5 MHz.
- The licence is to be used for the provision of publicly available electronic communications services using GSM, UMTS, LTE or WiMAX technologies. Other technical systems may also be used if they can be run in parallel with these technologies.
- Term of licence: 1 June 2017 up to and including 31 December 2027.
